All puppy reservations are secured with a non-refundable $500 deposit, which is applied toward the total purchase price of your puppy.

If for any reason a puppy is not selected from the original litter, or if the timing is better for your family to bring a puppy home from a future litter, your deposit may be transferred to an upcoming litter.

To place a deposit or inquire about an available or upcoming puppy, please contact us directly.

We currently accept deposits via:

Apple Pay, Zelle, and Venmo.

Once your $500 reservation deposit is received, We will email your puppy contract through DocuSign for you to review and sign. After the contract is completed, it is automatically returned to us for our records.

Puppy Selection Process:

Families may begin selecting their puppy once we share the litter’s newborn photo shoot, typically when the puppies are about 1–2 weeks old. At that time, we introduce the litter name theme and each individual puppy.

From that point forward, families may follow the puppies as they grow and begin getting to know their personalities. Families must notify us of their puppy selection no later than when the puppies are approximately 4–5 weeks of age.

Puppy selections are made in the order deposits are received, unless otherwise arranged by the breeder for special breedings or circumstances.

If we are unable to provide the sex originally requested, or if a puppy cannot be placed from the reserved litter for any reason, families may:

  • transfer their deposit to the next available litter, or

  • move to the end of the selection list for the opposite sex (if available).

Remaining Balance:

The remaining balance is due the day before pickup day (your puppy’s “Gotcha Day”). We are always happy to share our current pricing and availability when you reach out and introduce yourself. We love to talk and get to know our families before moving forward with the puppy process journey.

Transportation & Delivery:

We do not ship puppies as cargo on commercial airlines.

Families who are unable to travel to us may use a professional pet nanny service. Pet nannies pick up the puppy in person from us and either personally deliver the puppy to the family or fly home with the puppy in cabin.

All pet nanny arrangements and fees are handled separately by the family.

Health, Care & Early Development:

Our puppies are raised in a loving, hands-on, family-focused environment.

We perform Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) exercises daily with our puppies from 3–16 days of age to support early confidence and development.

Our puppies are:

  • regularly handled

  • exposed to everyday household and farm activity

  • introduced to well-mannered adult dogs

Early socialization is an important part of raising confident, well-adjusted puppies.

Early Potty Training:

We begin introducing potty habits early.

  • At approximately two weeks of age, washable puppy pads are introduced.

  • Around five weeks of age, puppies transition to a designated potty pallet area.

Puppies are not fully potty trained when they go home, but they do have a strong foundation and understanding of designated potty areas.

Tails & Dewclaws:

Tails are docked and dewclaws are removed at 3-5 days of age, unless a different arrangement has been requested and agreed upon prior to the litter being born.

Deworming:

Puppies are dewormed as needed at approximately:

  • 2 weeks Pyrantel

  • 4 weeks Pyrantel

  • 6 weeks Safegaurd

  • 8 weeks Safegaurd

Veterinary Care & Vaccinations:

Puppies go home at approximately 8 weeks of age after being examined and cleared by our veterinarian.

Each puppy goes home with:

  • a full veterinary health exam

  • digital documentation

  • a complete health record

  • vaccination/Puppies receive their first vaccination at approximately 6–7 weeks of age.

  • AKC limited registration paperwork

Going Home:

Our puppies go home at approximately 8 weeks of age once they have been:

  • examined and cleared by our veterinarian

  • properly dewormed

  • socialized and started on early routines

Coat Color Development:

German Shorthaired Pointer puppies are typically born mostly white with visible patches. Their ticking and roaning continue to develop as they grow and become more noticeable starting around two weeks of age and beyond.

Puppy Care After Going Home:

Bringing your puppy home is exciting—and a big adjustment for your puppy.

It is very common for puppies to:

  • eat less during the first day or two

  • be a little picky/shy

  • have mild, temporary stool changes

This is usually due to stress and a new environment. As long as your puppy is bright, playful, and drinking water, this is typically normal. If you notice lethargy, vomiting, or anything that concerns you, please contact your veterinarian.

Safe Socialization:

Socialization is important, but it must be done safely while your puppy’s immune system is still developing.

We recommend:

  • avoiding unknown dogs and high-traffic public places

  • socializing at home with calm adults

  • allowing interaction with healthy, vaccinated dogs only

Your veterinarian can guide you on when it is safe to expand outings.

Crate Training:

We strongly recommend crate training, even if the puppy will eventually sleep in your bed. It can be a helpful and positive tool that teaches your puppy to feel safe and secure in their own space, while also making travel, emergencies, and everyday routines easier and less stressful for you and the puppy.

The first week can be rough (for both you and the puppy!), but consistency truly pays off. Get your power naps in.

Helpful tips:

  • make the crate a positive and comfortable space

  • use soft bedding and safe chew toys

  • keep early sessions short

  • never force your puppy into the crate

  • establish a routine: potty → play → crate for rest

Crate training supports:

  • house training

  • safety

  • healthy routines

  • learning how to settle and rest

Feeding & Nutrition:

We feed our puppies Victor All Stages – Aqua bag.

In our nursery, we free feed the litter and leave food down to support confidence and healthy early eating habits.

When your puppy goes home, we recommend allowing them to free feed for the first few days to the first week to help them adjust comfortably. Once your puppy is settled, transition to a regular schedule.

Easy Feeding Guide (at 8 weeks)

  • ✔ Food: Victor All Stages (Aqua)

  • ✔ Amount per meal: ¼ to ⅓ cup of kibble

  • ✔ Meals per day: 3–4 small meals

  • ✔ Total per day (approximate): ¾ to 1¼ cups

Every puppy is different (and some are dramatic about dinner).

Use this as a starting point and adjust as needed.

Cute but helpful rule of thumb:

  • If your puppy is round like a tiny potato… you’re probably feeding a little too much.

  • If your puppy looks ribby and hollow… time to bump it up a bit.

A healthy puppy should look lean, athletic, and have a visible waist when viewed from above. If your puppy finishes every meal and still seems hungry, a small increase is fine. If food is left behind regularly, you may be offering a little too much. Your veterinarian can always help fine-tune feeding amounts as your puppy grows.

Veterinary Follow-Up:

We recommend scheduling a veterinary appointment when their next puppy shot is due. So you can get the puppy established with their vet that you trust. You can find when that is due with the puppy vaccine record we send home with the puppy. Until your puppy is fully vaccinated we encourage to carry and not place the puppy on the floor of the vet or clinic due to possible exposure to illness.

Growing Up at Home:

German Shorthaired Pointers are social, intelligent, and active dogs. As your puppy grows, daily play, short training sessions, gentle structure, and family involvement are very important for healthy development.
